Mantras

Earlier this year, I was pondering on what my resolutions for the year would be. A thought just occurred to me that, "what if I don't make any?" I am even tired of making resolutions because I rarely keep them. I'll be loyal and excited for a few days until I'll suddenly lose interest. Instead of a laundry list of resolutions, I brought along 3 things into 2015, no more baggages, they are Praises, Prayers & Presence.

Praises. Grumbling about my lot has never and will never change anything, I'd rather be grateful for everything. I'll be grateful for the gift of life, opportunities in each moment, friends, families, challenges and the blessings that I'm yet to receive. A grateful heart is a sound heart.

Prayers. A greater percentage of us believe in a higher power, a divinity that we turn to from time to time. Everything in life can be prayed about, no matter how small. There is no prayer that ever go unanswered, though the answers may not be what we desire, it's always in our best interest. Prayers won't amount to anything if we don't believe in its potency anyway.

Presence. Staying in the present moment has always been a challenge for me, I'm often stuck between the regrets of yesterday and the uncertainty of tomorrow, making me to miss the beauty of now, which is the only moment that exists. I had to be pressing RESET each time I caught myself slipping away. Relishing in the present will save us considerable time and energy.

Though the mantras aren't working like spells, they are more effective than resolutions. There are still areas that I need to make adjustments. It is not about the destination, but the journey. The curtains of this year will be closing in a matter of weeks, got any mantras for the coming year? Let's discuss in the comments section below.
